Alco C-424M Engines

Here you can find pictures of the Alco C-424Ms Guilford used as switchers when the Delaware & Hudson was a part of the system.

The Century 424 series was built between May 1963 – May 1966, weighs 260,000 lbs and uses a Alco V-16 251B four-stroke 16 cylinder turbo charged diesel prime mover that develops 2400 hp , and 54,100 lb of tractive effort, and carries 1660 gallons of fuel. My thanks to The Diesel Shop for the information.
